The clash broke out at about 2.30am after a group of PKK members attempted to infiltrate from Turkey’s Iraqi border near Çukurca town of Hakkari in southeastern Turkey.
Four members of the PKK group were killed during the clash. One soldier was also killed in a counter-fire, and six others were injured in the same clash.
A large scale operation was launched in the border area against the PKK group shortly after the clash.
