3 Chechen men killed in armed assault; Chechenian association accuses Russia
An armed assault left 3 Chechen men dead in İstanbul on Friday. A Chechenian association accused Russian secret service of committing the killings
The attack took place in Zeytinburnu town of İstanbul at about 3pm on the last weekday. An unidentified man opened fire on 3 Chechen men after getting off a car and killed them on the scene. Musaevi Berkkhazh, claimed to be a high-ranking commander during Chechenia-Russia War; Rustam Altemirol and Zavrbek Amriev, two former Chechen insurgent leaders, died at the scene of the armed assault.
Ömer Bezirgan, an administrator at Chechen Humanitarian Defence and Brotherhood Association (İMKAN-DER), accused the Russian secret service of carrying out the attack. An anti-terror police investigation into the killings continues.
