Japanese man to join IS captured in Turkeys southeast
A Japanese man, who was bound to join the Islamic State (IS) in Syria, was captured on late March 22 in the Nizip district of the southeastern province of Gaziantep. >
Gendarmerie teams captured the man identified as M.M. while searching a suspicious car.
The suspect confessed during an interrogation that he had come to the district to cross the border and join IS, saying he met a Syrian person on the phone and was convinced to join the jihadist group.
The man will be deported once his documentation at the courthouse is completed.
