Quitting college for stray animals

A group of studens from Akdeniz University (AÜ) started a campaign to support Gökçer Korkmaz, who quit the university to help stray animals in Kırklareli.
Students delivered the animal food bought with the funds raised in the campaign.

Gökçer Korkmaz, quit his college education in Akdeniz University Faculty of Tourism to help stray animals in his hometown, Kırklareli. Korkmaz is caring for approximately 500 stray dogs and nursing 50 injured of sick dogs in his house.

Korkmaz said, “School education should have taught how to be a good person. They teach about wars but do not say why wars are bad. They teach about nature but not do not teach why we should car efor nature. They don not care whether we are kind hearted, good individuals or not.”

Görkem Barındık, a student from AÜ and a friend of Gökçer Korkmaz, has organised a campaign to help their friend Gökçer Korkmaz named, "Gökçer Korkmaz Animal Lovers Piggybank" and raised funds. The funds raised were used to supply animal food and delivered to Kırklareli.
