Fields were flooded with oil after an oil pipeline of BOTAŞ was sabotaged on Monday…
The sabotage took place on the first day of week near Dereyanı village of southeastern province of Mardin’s Yeşilli town. BOTAŞ’s Kerkük-Yumurtalık pipeline was sabotaged in an explosion, and oil flooded into the neighbouring fields in the area. The leakage was stopped shortly after, but it was reported that the leaked oil damaged many fields.
The leaked oil reached to Savur, Ömerli, and Yeşilli villages in the area. The outlawed PKK is accused of the sabotage that was carried out with a bomb.
A work of fixing the pipeline continues at the explosion spot.
