The eastern part of Turkey has been the scene of heavy snowing in the last week, and snow depth reached to some 2,5 meters in some places. Fehmi Alaydın, Mayor of eastern province of Bitlis, climbed up to a snow pile, and tied his shoelaces on top of a street-lamp to draw attention to their recent struggle. The Mayor expressed his serious concerns about an expected snowing wave on Thursday.
210 of 343 village links were opened in efforts that took place since last Saturday. Road opening works in city-centre of Bitlis province d tunnel-like figures that reached to some 5-6 meters at some points.
