The suicide attempt took place in Midyat town of Mardin in southeastern Turkey on Tuesday. The young girl went to Midyat Public Hospital to have her father certified for a wheelchair, as he had been 46 per cent disabled with one of his legs as replacement. D.A. climbed up to the rooftop of the hospital’s building and left herself to the ground after her 55-year-old father Ramazan Aslan was refused the certification for the wheelchair.
The young girl landed on a blanket that had been stretched by cleaning personnel of the hospital, and was taken to hospital for treatment. An immediate treatment was given to the girl at Midyat Public Hospital, where she had attempted suicide, before she was referred to a hospital in Mardin. She was reported to be in good health.
The moments of the suicide attempt were recorded by cameras, while a bewildered group of people were watching the goings-on.
