European champion weightlifter Cansu Bektaş: I succeeded for Azerbaijan and my grandmother

Despite her young age, Cansu Bektaş broke records at the Senior European Weightlifting Championships and won three gold medals. Cansu Bektaş, who broke the junior record with 3 gold medals at the Senior European Weightlifting Championships, stated that the burning of the Azerbaijani flag made her ambitious, and added "I made myself ambitious by saying 'don't forget the promises you made, think about Azerbaijan, think about your friend, think about your grandmother.”

Bektaş gifted her medal to Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mihriban Aliyeva, and added "Then they invited us to Azerbaijan, I gave the gift myself. They welcomed us very well, had very nice conversation. It was like we were in Turkey. Everyone knew us. We had a great time. Mihriban Aliyeva did not take off the national team jersey we gave her as a gift. We were very happy."
