Report: In Syria 47.9 percent of refugees are children

The United Naitons Refugee Agency (UNCHR) have reported that the 47.9 percent of the 5,647,637 people fled Syria are children.

According to the latest Save the Children report updated on April, there are approximately 2,705,218 children refugees in the region. The report shows that estimated 6.6 million people have been internally displayed by violence, 8.2 million people are living in area with high exposure to expolisve weapons and that more than 960 children have been recruited and/or used uring the conflict in 2017.

Save the Children have stated that it has received 330 milliın dollars for its humanitarian interventions from Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, Iraq, Egypt and Syria to date. The organization has also stated that it is actively coordinating with governments, UN agencies and other NGOs to respond to the humanitarian crisis.
