China: Trade deal with US should be based on equality

Istanbul, May 21 (DHA) – Chinese Foreign Ministry stated on Tuesday that any trade agreement with the United States should be based on equality and mutual benefit for both countries. The ministry also disputed US President Donald Trump's claims about China breaking a nearly finished deal, saying instead that an agreement Trump was referring to was never in place.
Beijing added that foreign investors are still "enthusiastic" about China despite the trade dispute with the US, and vowed to provide an "even better investment environment" for foreign companies.
Chinese Foreign Ministry's comments come days after the US decided to place a ban on Huawei over espionage concerns, while American tech giant Google announced it will cut off the Chinese firm's access to its apps and services. Meanwhile, the latest reports indicated that the two companies started discussions over how to overcome the blacklisting, while Washington delayed measures against Huawei by 90 days.
