Marvel and The Simpsons salute cryptocurrency technologies

Marvel’s “Hunt for Wolverine – Adamantium Agenda #1” and The Simpsons’ video game “The Simpsons: Tapped Out” have announced that they feature Bitcoin, blockchain and cryptocurrency related references.

Resting among the popular video games, “The Simpsons: Tapped Out” features Homer, also one of the main characters in the show, at work with a "nerdy" colleague Martin talking about blockchain. The players are expected to mention the word blockchain without context and at one point in the game, Martin states that he has just heard the word blockchain “last week” and that “now he acts like he is an expert on it”.

Apart from Simpsons, Marvel also displays Bitcoin in its comic book series “Hunt for Wolverine: Adamantium Agenda #1”. In the comic book, Wolverine, one of the süper heroes of Marvel universe, is sacrificing himself in order to save New York from a bomb and then disappears. Spider Man, Iron Man, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones, other süper heroes from the universe, all gather together. Apart from the main adventure, the comic book portrays a universe og where distributed ledger technology is immutable and assumes Bitcoin as a universal power delivery system, often used by robots.
