Strong winds in Ankara: Flying sofa landed in front of a house
Trees were toppled, and parts of buildings and furniture were flown due to a heavy storm in Ankara. While many items were scattered from the balconies of a 35-story apartment building located on 2547th Street in the Ümit Neighbourhood of the Çankaya district, the moments when a sofa flew were captured on camera. The sofa, which took off due to the strong winds, fell in front of a house on 2531st Street.

Onur Kalmaz, who witnessed the moment of the sofa flying and shoot the video said, “I'm the one who shoot the video of the sofa. It rained heavily and a storm broke out. All of a sudden, we saw things rising from the ground or sofas flying from the balconies. At that time, I also had the phone in my hand. I was looking at my car. All of a sudden I saw the sofa coming towards here. It landed in the garden, thank God. No one was hurt, but we were pretty scared. There were many more flying sofas. No casualties. No problem with the sofa as well.”
