Despite her young age, Cansu Bektaş broke records at the Senior European Weightlifting Championships and won three gold medals. Cansu Bektaş, who broke the junior record with 3 gold medals at the Senior European Weightlifting Championships, stated that the burning of the Azerbaijani flag made her ambitious, and added "I made myself ambitious by saying 'don't forget the promises you made, think about Azerbaijan, think about your friend, think about your grandmother.”
